Hi there! I’m Jess and I love learning and sharing about health and wellness. My hats include follower of Christ, wife, mom to 2 little boys, Physical Therapist, and nap-time DIYer. I love holidays, decorating, lazy Sundays, and all things Disney,
I grew up in a very health conscious family; my parents always led by example in terms of nutrition and exercise. My family owns a couple of health food stores and I spent a large chunk of my childhood playing amongst the shelves with my cousins and trying all kinds of natural remedies. Although I was always surrounded by healthy living, I didn’t always apply the concepts to my own life.
It wasn’t until 2013 that I radically changed my lifestyle. I watched Forks Over Knives and Food, Inc. on Netflix and cut out all animal products the very next day. I began running for fitness and have since participated in 6 half marathons (most of them at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, FL). Eventually, I integrated only wild-caught fish into my diet and some forms of dairy. This is been my diet ever since.
I credit my years in Physical Therapy school with my interest in evidence-based information. It was natural for me to start looking up research on the questions I had about health and wellness. I began thinking, “Wouldn’t others questions this too?”, or at the very least appreciate the information.
So many products that we use are not regulated and it’s really up to us as consumers to understand what’s on the label. That’s how Naturally by Jess was born; to help myself and others eat, clean, and live naturally. I’ve filled this blog with all of my favorite things that make it authentically and naturally me.
